The Herbarium of the Natural history Museum of Grenoble, a scientific tool always consulted

Liste des publications citant l'herbier GRM au 14 octobre 2024

The Herbarium of the Museum de Grenoble is regularly consulted by botanists, amateurs or professionals, as part of their research. These consultations are done remotely (sending photos, answering questions about the specimens), or by visiting the herbarium.

This research gives rise to publications in scientific journals, in which typifications are sometimes written (designation of a reference specimen, or nomenclatural type, associated with a scientific name).

The first herbarium officially arrived in 1801 and from the 19th century, differents works cite the Herbarium of the Museum (like the Flore du Dauphiné by Auguste Mutel in 1830 where it is called "herbarium of the Library", see the extract in image above). This is still the case in the 21st century.
