"The recreations of a rural schoolteacher, or Herbarium of a Dauphiné school"

A herbarium 10 meters long, created by a schoolteacher in the Hautes-Alpes at the end of the 19th century

Charles Dusserre-Telmon (1839-1891), a schoolteacher in Hautes-Alpes department, created this particulary original herbarium : 20 cardboard sheets bound in an accordion fold approximatively 10 meters long, supplemented by 10 additional sheets.

This herbarium contains more than 400 plants collected in 1873, notably in the municipalities of Neffes, Trescléoux, Fouillouse, Lardier-et-Valença .
